Bio: Neville Dieusel Byrd was born on the Caribbean island nation of Haiti in its capital city of Port-Au-Prince but moved with his family to Montreal Quebec Canada at a young age where he took up the local sport of hockey. While playing hockey Byrd was the subject of racial slurs but eventually unleashed his pent up anger in the form of hockey fights, knocking his verbal abusers out with wild haymakers. Though he had the skill to play other positions in hockey was specifically chosen to play the role of enforcer. Byrd began taking judo classes at the local dojo in order to more effectively defend himself in the jersey tugging portions, unbeknownst to most who challenged him while he had kept his at the time green belt in judo under wraps. Byrd eventually quit hockey but continued to study judo and take classes at a school who referred to themselves as "shootfighters". Having earned his brown belt in judo Byrd never took his judo education further as the skills required for black belt he deemed "unnecessary". Neville wanted a new challenge, getting closer and closer to middle age and found advertisements for a fighter travel agency posted by an obsessive Ashe Denis who payed for classified space in areas stretching from North Bay, to Ottawa, and to Montreal.
Neville Byrd then packed his bags for Rio De Janeiro who appeared to be a jiu-jitsu "natural" earning his blue belt by quickly sand bagging his way through it and has become Denis' first Canadian student.
